Position Title: Accounts Receivable Collector

**Responsibilities**
- Follow up on all assigned insurance claims 21 days after claim submission and last touch, to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
- Process assigned AR work lists or special projects as needed.
- Performing reconsiderations and appeals.
- Researching claim denials, resolution steps, and acting accordingly.
- Coordinate with client to retrieve missing or incorrect information in a timely fashion.
- Recommend accounts for adjustment once all appropriate actions have been taken.
- Properly notate accounts after performing actions
- Scan correspondence and post payments, as needed.
- Develop reports as requested.
- Answer patients questions or calls as needed for assigned accounts.
- Perform other applicable duties as assigned.

**Skills**
- Intermediate+ level knowledge of medical billing rules, such as coordination of benefits, modifiers, Medicare and Medicaid rules and understanding of EOBs.
- Knowledge of Medicare LCDs and ability to research payer guidelines.
- Familiar with Insurance carrier guidelines, including timely filing limits and medical necessity.
- Ability to research and post payments or resolve patient credits.
- Ability to use the phone and insurance portals to review claim statuses and payer-specific rules or policies.
- Must be able to interact well with all kinds of people, especially on the phone.
- Adherence to laws and best practices regarding PHI and data.
- Working knowledge of MS Office product, practice management software, clearinghouse software, and payer portals.
- Proficiency in English.
- Results-driven and willing to work as part of a team.
- High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness.

**Qualifications**
- 3+ years in an AR Collections role at a multispecialty or mid-size medical group, lab and ancillary billing experience required.
- High-school diploma required, Associates degree in a medical or business-related field preferred.
- Formal billing and/or coding training preferred, but additional training will be provided.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Sedentary Work: Lifting 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying items as needed
- Frequent Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
- Frequent Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds by the ear
- Frequent Seeing: Visual acuity, depth perception, field of vision, color vision
- Consistent use of hand movement for keyboarding purposes
- Flexible working conditions

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
