As a Preschool Teacher at Glide FYCC Preschool, you will be an integral part of our team, supporting the daily operations of our program. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the health and safety of our participants, designing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities, and fostering an inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity.

**Responsibilities**:

- Foster individual child development through a child-centered approach, allowing freedom of choice in learning activities.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness in classrooms and buildings, adhering to safety protocols indoors and outdoors.
- Cultivate strong relationships with parents/guardians and promote their involvement in center events.
- Support the Lead Teacher in documentation and meeting reporting requirements.
- Demonstrate compliance with educational and regulatory standards, including Dept. of Education and California Department of Social Services regulations.
- Conduct developmental assessments and parent conferences twice a year.
- Attend to children's daily needs and interactions, ensuring appropriate caregiver-child interactions.
- Assist with meal service, cleanup, and adherence to childcare food program requirements.
- Support children in daily hygiene routines, including diaper changes, hand washing, and cleaning play areas.
- Monitor children's health and enforce health and safety procedures for illnesses and communicable diseases.
- Supervise Teacher's Assistants, volunteers, interns when Lead Teacher is not present.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass Dept. of Justice Fingerprint screening.
- High School Diploma/GED and 24 units of Early Childhood Education including Core ECE units required.
- 1+ years’ experience teaching targeted age groups.
- Enjoys interacting with preschoolers/toddlers. Relates to them in age, developmental, and culturally appropriate terms.
- CA Dept. of Education Teacher’s permit or Associate Teachers’ permit with continued eligibility for renewal and/or upgrade of permit to remain qualified for the position.
- Must pass tuberculosis screening.
- Must show proof of pertussis, influenza, Tdap and measles immunizations.
- Must have/complete CPR and First Aid training.
- Proficiency in a second language desired.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are required. Demonstrates ability to communicate, reason, and consistently interact in a professional, patient, and sensitive manner with culturally, economically, and racially diverse program participants and staff.
- Proficiency in grammar, spelling, and writing is necessary to write lesson plans, documentation, and reports.
- Basic mathematical skills including the ability to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages are required.
