News Clerk

Within the spirit of "Making People's Dreams Come True", this position’s primary function is to provide clerical support across newsroom teams. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

**Full-Time, On-Site position.**

**Competitive salary based on experience, starting at $12.00 per hour.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Performs the data entry of various community listings, rewrites press releases into Daily Sun style and compiles basic news briefs.
- Scans and/or photocopies documents, correspondence and photos.
- Handles some basic pagination of assigned features.
- Supports the Administrative Assistants in tasks such as coordinating events, preparing contest entries, and organizing and maintaining filing systems as required.
- Takes and uploads basic photographs as necessary.
- Fosters a culture of collaboration and contributes to a healthy team dynamic.

**Education/Experience Requirements**:

- No prior experience or training required.
- Must be a fast and accurate typist, 60 wpm preferred.
- Must have excellent computer skills, especially working in a Microsoft Office environment.
- Must possess basic writing, proofreading and editing skills. Familiarity with AP style preferred.
