**DESCRIPTION**: Attend & participate in all meetings of the Board and its committees, except when own employment or salary is under consideration. Prepare the agenda for Board meetings in conjunction with the President of the Board. Advise the Board on the need for new and/or revised policies and oversee the implementation of Board policies. Oversee Business Manager in the preparation and presentation of the annual operating budget and implement the Board approved budget.

Assume final responsibility for securing and recommending employment of the best qualified and most competent teaching, supervisory, and administrative personnel available for vacant positions. Oversee the maintenance of accurate financial, personnel, educational, and pupil accounting records. Prepare information, facts, and reports for the Board in all matters requiring Board action. Keep the Board informed of activities and programs operating under the Board's authority.

Coordinate the total educational program and provide leadership in its development and improvement. Remain current with modern educational thought and practices through attending educational conferences, school visitations, and study of appropriate journals. Direct school administrative personnel in consistent implementation of the master contract with certified personnel. Supervise the effective administration of all constitutional or statutory laws and state regulations.

Report to the Board the case of any employee whose service is unsatisfactory and recommends appropriate action. Represent the corporation before the public, and maintain, through cooperative leadership, both within and outside the corporation, a program of publicity and public relations to keep the public informed as to the activities, needs, and successes of the schools. Maintain a presence in community activities especially those which may interact with the interests of the schools. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Board.
