Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA)

Founded in 1977, CASA is the official 501c3 domestic violence center based in Pinellas County, FL. We operate the area’s 24-hour hotline and emergency shelter; non-residential programs, such as support groups, economic empowerment and legal advocacy; Child Protective Investigative Team support; community and corporate training; and the CASA Peacemakers anti-bullying and healthy relationship school curriculum.

**Position Title**: Housing Manager

**Location**: Marion County

**Reports To**:Programs Director

**Illustrative Duties**:

- Mange CASA Marion’s Community Based Housing Programs.
- Oversee housing staff to include onboarding and training.
- Must be available for on-call and call back responsibilities during assigned weeks throughout the year.
- Assist survivors of domestic violence with locating housing options.
- Complete housing inspections if required by grant funder.
- Work in partnership with other staff members to ensure proper housing placement.
- Provide ongoing case management to enhance the sustainability of housing for survivors.
- Responsible for establishing & maintaining landlord relationships.
- Assist participants with obtaining rental assistance money, processing referrals to various housing programs and requesting housing vouchers.
- Perform monthly record keeping and statistical tasks as assigned.
- Facilitate housing workshops to survivors or the community.
- Facilitate self-sufficiency workshops or support groups to survivors and their children.
- Advocate with other community agencies and the criminal justice system on participant’s behalf as needed.
- Provide services at outreach or shelter as needed.
- Carry an assigned caseload and meet with survivors on a regular basis to provide resources, advocacy, and ongoing safety planning.
- Answer hotline calls and assess appropriate services and referrals.
- Provide safety planning, while screening and pending for shelter.
- Provide back up and assistance to any program area as requested by management.
- Complete all required paperwork, data entry, and statistical reports in a timely manner.
- Complete special projects and all other duties as assigned.

**General**:

- Understand and abide by all CASA’s Policies and Procedures.
- Demonstrate a commitment to treat residents, volunteers, and co-workers in a respectful manner at all times.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Attend and participate in ongoing training.
- Assist with training and supervision of volunteers.
- Agree to work a flexible schedule when required, which may include changing schedules to ensure case management coverage, due to illness, absence, vacation other staff members, or a natural disaster.
- Complete special projects, presentations, and all other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of two years of college, or equivalent work/life experience required.
- At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, social services, housing, or criminal justice related knowledge preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current community resources and have the ability to maintain working relationships with agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects successfully.
- Experience working with survivors of domestic violence or other social service or criminal justice related knowledge strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current community resources and the ability to maintain working relationships with agencies.
- Agree to drive agency vehicles as needed.
- Possess the ability to climb stairs and lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to function independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Possess a valid Florida State Driver’s License and auto insurance coverage.
- Agree to participate in a background check after offer of employment.
- All employees of CASA are considered “essential” and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.

Pay: $48,000 Per Year

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Education**:

- Minimum of two years of college, or equivalent work/life experience required

**Experience**:

- At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.

License/Certification:

- Driver's License (required)

Willingness to travel:

- 25% (preferred)
