**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The purpose of the Server position at Janko Hospitality is to provide world-class service to all guests. The server is responsible for taking guests food orders, serving beer and wine, mixing cocktails and for creating a welcoming atmosphere for the customers that helps facilitate sales. The server will provide superior customer service to assure the highest possible level of guest satisfaction.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
- Available to work 7 days a week, rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime.
- Prepare cocktails in accordance with standard recipes.
- Serve all liquor, beer and wine correctly, quickly and in a hospitable manner.
- Takes guests orders and attempts to upsell with every interaction
- Makes suggestions to guests according to their liking
- Have excellent knowledge of every item on the menu in order to assist guests and offer suggestions
- Utilizes the espresso machine and prepares all Starbucks beverages in accordance to standard recipes
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
- Participates in in-house meetings as needed
- Wear name tags, shoes, clean and proper uniform appearance at start of every shift
- Set up bar, liquor, glasses, silverware, ice, garnish set up, etc.
- Check on guests to get feedback on the quality of their meals, service, etc. and resolve any problems.
- Enters all orders in MICROS to ensure proper reporting
- Counts cash bank at the beginning and end of every shift
- Informs F&B leaders of items missing to ensure consistency in PAR levels.
- Cleans floors, sinks, and performs general sanitation of the food and beverage areas
- Utilizes the dishwasher to ensure cleanliness of glassware
- Completes all side work at the end of each shift and reports to the F&B leads of any issues during the shift

**CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GUEST SATISFACTION**
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and proper uniform within entire department
- Greets guests, visitors and team members in a courteous and friendly manner
- Must be able to multi-task, be outgoing, able to upsell and be responsible
- Performs other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management

**SAFETY AND SECURITY**
- Report any suspicious activity of guest, visitors or staff
- Maintains security for guests and property by keeping room doors locked
- Understands and is able to confront guests that need to be “cut off” due to being over the limit
- Prevents drunk driving, underage drinking, and intoxication
- Perform duties in accordance with Safety, Security Policies OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens regulations

**PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Physically and visually able to utilize a computer keyboard, printer, phones, and basic office supplies
- Firm and simple grasping is an ongoing requirement for all aspects of work
- Lifting of supplies occurs occasionally, usually not more than 25 lbs. but may be up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand 90% of the day and walk for long periods of time through the work day
- Reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting of body at the waist, and bending are required
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, tax and percentages

**SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE**
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of relevant work experience required
- Previous customer service or hotel experience required, “Hilton” Experience helpful.
- Friendly demeanor and excellent communication and customer service skills
- BASSET - Beverage Alcohol Seller and Server certificate preferred
- Proficiency in the use of computer systems such as Micros
