Jr. Engineering Change Technician

Position is responsible for assisting the Engineering Change Manager on processing submitted Engineering Change Requests (ECR) from external departments as well as overseeing the implementation of new parts and processes passed down from senior level engineers and engineering management. This includes tracking and inputting ECR information through the company’s ERP system. Other responsibilities include Bill of Materials management as well as cross departmental communication to identify changes occurring that need to be systematically updated.

**JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- Responsible for all entry level engineering technician functions such as process and work instruction validations
- The role requires the individual to establish and maintain strong relationships between design engineering, manufacturing engineering, marketing, production control, materials, sales, accounting, and supply chain
- Assist with ECR / ECO processing for existing products
- Will oversee Value Add / Value Engineering implementations on the production line
- Participate in design and drawing review and provide manufacturing feedback to design engineers
- Work closely with senior level manufacturing engineers on current product sustainment and current process optimization
- Assist in performing Bill of Materials updates across all company products
- Create routers for new materials movement between the warehouse and the production line
- Assist in the maintenance of the Part Number Assignment Log system
- Perform revision level cross examinations between the Engineering Bill of Materials and the Manufacturing Bill of Materials
- Perform regular Bill of Materials validations through close coordination with Supply Chain and Production departments
- Will assist the Manager of Engineering Change Control in developing and documenting change control processes
- Will assist the Manager of Engineering Change Control in analytical review all parts data within the company’s ERP system to identify potential improvements
- Individual must work with mínimal supervision and be an innovative problem solver with excellent communication skills
- Perform other duties assigned by the Manager of Engineering Change Control

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- Strong understanding of materials movement through a manufacturing facility
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs such as Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Bill of Material structures
- Knowledge of Work Instruction creation and management
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Knowledge of part number control and product integrity in a manufacturing process
- Data processing skills
- Detailed analytical abilities
- Self-directed and self-motivated
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Understanding of problem-solving processes
- Deep understanding of Change Management

- Comprehension of business operation (part numbers, part flow, drawings, design changes, manufacturing instructions, and MRP) as relates to a manufacturing Bill of Material
- Spanish Fluent
- SolidWorks or similar program experience
- Previous leadership experience

**SAFETY**:

- This position will conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, and all state and federal regulations (such as 6S, Lean Manufacturing, OSHA, etc.). Bring problems to the attention of the Manager, Safety Manager or HR Director.
- Ensures all workplace safety standards and practices are upheld
- May participate as a member of the Safety Committee

**ENVIRONMENT**:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be temporarily exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts when needed on production floor. The noise level in the work environment is mild and conducive to normal office communication levels.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and use office equipment such as fax, computer, mouse, keyboard, phone, copier.
