Community Development Services Staff

**Job description**

Seeking Community Development Services Staff to provide one-on-one support Monday through Friday from 10 am-5 pm (part-time is also possible, as are occasional evening/weekend hours if desired) to a 25 YO woman who has developmental disabilities and related caregiving needs, utilizing DDA Self-Directed Services to ensure she has the support required to live and learn as independently as possible in the Eldersburg area.

Please note: You will be an employee of the individual you are supporting and paid through a fiscal management service. You will not be an employee of Kent Buhrman, LLC.

This position provides person-centered support with social skills, health and wellness, self-care, volunteering, self-employment, functional communication, behavioral support, and community access skills. You will assist the person with:

- Maximizing independence by teaching various life, vocational, social, and recreational skills
- Engaging in meaningful community activities throughout the day
- Providing personal assistance as necessary, including assistance with personal hygiene
- Assisting to participate in independent living activities
- Behavioral Support, as needed.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in a related field is a plus (applicant must be 18 years of age or older)
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must have a valid Driver's License with less than two points and reliable transportation
- Must have a valid CPR & First Aid Certification (must include in-person skills training component; hybrid class is okay)
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities including autism, is preferred

Expected hours: 21 - 35 hours per week (3 - 5 days per week)

Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Day shift
- No nights (unless requested)
- No weekends (unless requested)

Work Location: In person, southern Carroll County

Mileage Reimbursement: Paid only for transportation of client during work shift

PTO: Available to full-time employees following initial 90 days of employment

Pay: $21.63 - $32.45 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
