The Delaware Valley Veterans' Home is seeking an ambitious and confident Therapeutic Activities Aide who is committed to providing amazing resident care and interaction. **DESCRIPTION OF WORK**:
Under the direction of therapeutic recreational services staff, you will assist with planning, scheduling, and conducting educational and recreational activities that lead our residents to their highest level of physical, cognitive, and social ability. These include social parties, dances, dinners, table games, and field trips. You will create a safe and cordial atmosphere for residents, visitors, and the general public, and maintain relationships with other departments and veteran’s service organizations. You will observe residents' behavior in order to provide information on their progress, strengths, and needs. Additionally, you will be the lead worker for volunteers who assist with the center's activities and provide guidance in safety practices, precautions and center policies.

**Work Schedule and Additional Information**:

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Your schedule will include rotating days and holidays, as well as every other weekend.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Minimum Experience and Training Requirements**:

- Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; **or**:

- Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (commonwealth title);** **or**:

- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

**Additional Requirements**:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

**Legal Requirements**:

- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
