**Summary**

This position requires product be sanded to work instructions and / or customer print specifications utilizing a variety of manual or powered tools. All products must meet or exceed quality standards and may require special handling. This position requires dexterity along with attention to detail.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assist Production Lead and Material Handler in EOR (End Of Run) & EOS (End Of Shift) reporting.
- Recognize, validate, and resolve discrepancies in reporting (count, weight, location, batch, etc.)
- Assist and train other associates in creating labels, scanning bar codes, and any other task to monitor and ensure accurate inventory control.
- Perform prestaging of next job at the press by supplying all supporting equipment and documentation (fixtures, jigs, tools, work instructions, cooling racks, etc.)
- Perform press reset after a production run is complete by inspecting and returning all supporting items back to their home locations (fixtures, jigs, tools, work instructions, cooling racks, etc.)
- Responsible for training all operators on their shift and utilize training sheet FM-2-005 to validate that the associate has been trained and understands the work instructions.
- Train all associates on the proper use and technique required for all tools issued.
- Demonstrate how to complete any/all secondary operations while still maintaining an acceptable quality level.
- Instruct and monitor the use of tools utilized to trim parts for flash, gates, etc as per part work instructions.
- Train and demonstrate assembly, packing, and labeling of product that is done at the machine along with how to capture and dispose of discrepant scrap product.
- Training on the process to setup and execute hot iron insertion of inserts into components at the press when applicable.
- Review common defects associated with product and ensure that the associate can recognize and understand possible discrepancies (flash, sinks, splay, shorts, etc.)
- Assist production with relief for breaks and operating equipment when needed.
- Must follow all safety and work instructions along with completion of all required documentation.
- Maintains an open line of communication to assure all problems and changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.
- As requested, assist other team members in cross-training and conduct on the job training of other associates.
- Actively participates in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S & housekeeping. Facilitate and support facility and manufacturing safety, environmental and ergonomics efforts.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.
