**CONSERVATION TECHNICIAN**

**COMPANY OVERVIEW**

Conservation Services, Inc. is a hardwood tree planting contractor primarily serving the mid-Atlantic region. A Conservation Technician performs entry level work supporting the day-to-day operations of the company. We have two seasons where warehouse employees are extremely busy: Spring and Fall. During these times, the company depends heavily on the warehouse staff to support its field operations. At other times, Conservation Technicians can be expected to perform delivery services, various types of vegetation management and field maintenance, and typical warehouse-related activities.

**JOB ENVIRONMENT**

The job is based out of our warehouse in Waynesboro, Virginia. The position consists of field work, delivery activities, and/or warehouse duties, as needed. Variable hours, typically 8:30 AM- 5:00 PM. Light to strenuous physical labor can be expected, depending on the day.

During our busy seasons, out of town travel is frequent and may require overnight stays. Some trips may last a week at a time. Occasionally, weekend travel is required.

**JOB DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS**
- Showing up to work on time and prepared
- Maintaining a cooperative relationship with coworkers, vendors, and clients
- Performing shipping and receiving duties out of a central warehouse located in Waynesboro, Virginia, as needed
- Receiving incoming shipments and properly storing material and equipment
- Preparing material for shipment or delivery
- Assisting in keeping accurate inventory transaction records
- Assisting in keeping equipment maintained, functioning, and in good repair
- Assisting in maintaining accurate records and files for equipment (owner's manuals, scheduled maintenance, cost, etc.)
- Making accurate and timely deliveries to field locations
- Performing general building and warehouse maintenance including but not limited to performing minor construction, painting, housekeeping, etc.

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
- Ability to lift 70 pounds 100 times in a day
- Possess a valid and clean state driver's license
- Pass a standard bi-annual VDOT physical
- Possess a Virginia Registered Technician Pesticide Applicator Certification or be able to acquire certification within six months of employment
- Pass First Aid certification and Forklift training within six months of employment

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Ability to drive manual transmission equipment
- Experience driving a large truck with trailer
- Experience driving an agricultural tractor

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 65 per week
