Reports to: Department Supervisor

Location: Headquarters, Xenia, Ohio

Open: 365 days per year, typical shift is 7:00am to 3:30pm, with occasional overtime

Reptiles by Mack is a reptile breeding and wholesale facility. We specialize in pet reptiles such as bearded dragons, leopard geckos, corn snakes, and ball pythons. **Compensation**:
**$16.20 per hour**

**Job Summary**:
Shipping Animal Care Technicians support all aspects preparing and shipping our reptiles (including snakes, lizards, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, chameleons and turtles) and other animals (including spiders, frogs, roaches, crickets, mealworms, and hermit crabs). The various elements of shipping include:
**Job Skills and Responsibilities**:
Receives reptiles and other animals from departments, verifies the quality and count of all animals.
Sorts reptiles and other animals based on customer orders.
Checks counts against order and immediately reports discrepancies to Supervisor.
Observes animals to identify signs of injury, illness, or disease.
Loads reptiles and other animals according to process with care for safe shipping.
Verifies and records all reptiles and other animals loaded for shipments.
Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.
Prepares shipping documents, processes shipping labels and customer orders for packages through software.
Prepare all shipping supplies such heat packs, cold packs, cups, and boxes.
Perform supply inventory and deliver supplies to other departments weekly.
Prepare HatchRite for internal department use and external sales including package for shipping.
Package frozen rodents and insects (roaches, crickets, mealworms) for sale
Feeds and water insects according to feeding instructions and established schedules.
Cleans and disinfect insect living areas to established schedules.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:
Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
Basic understanding of warehouse procedures.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
Ability to learn Quickbooks and Shipping software
Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly on repetitive tasks.
Ability to follow instructions.
Detail-oriented and consistent.
Reliable and dependable in performing job-related tasks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Works well as a productive member of a team.
Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.

**Physical Requirements**:
Must be able to work in 85-degree to 90-degree temperatures and high humidity
Must have good motor skills for repetitive motions.
Prolonged periods (8 hours) of standing, lifting, and carrying materials
Must be able to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally and 25 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
Must be able to perform physical labor including reaching, twisting, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and lifting.
Ability to learn to use telephone, hand tools, gardening/carpentry/kitchen tools, electronic equipment (e.g. Scales and digital thermometers, computer equipment), power equipment (e.g. Power washer, commercial dishwasher)

**Preferred Qualifications**:
