**Northeast DuPage Family and Youth Services (NEDFYS) **is a not-for-profit social service agency with a mission to provide accessible, high-quality, community-based mental health and social services to residents in DuPage County. NEDFYS serves under-resourced residents through individual counseling services, partners with other community agencies and schools to provide mental health and violence prevention services for adolescents and families, and provides crisis intervention services in conjunction with area police departments.

The Prevention Coordinator will lead the development and implementation of positive youth development and violence prevention activities, psychoeducational groups, and clinical mental health support for youth in the Addison and Villa Park communities. These programs will provide youth with safe environments and caring adults to guide them toward educational and social success, help them develop marketable skills, offer social-emotional skill building and support, and provide clinically-focused mental health counseling and support when needed.

The Prevention Coordinator will provide direct services to youth at program sites and supervise interns. The position will be based out of our Addison administrative offices but will require travel to program sites in Addison and Villa Park for service delivery.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate planning and implementation of direct service program activities (life skills education, social emotional learning, service learning, etc.) at designated program sites in accordance with grant requirements and contract scope of services
- Provide direct services to program participants
- Psychoeducational/skill-building groups
- Therapeutic groups
- Individual counseling
- Family counseling
- Conduct staff training for program sites
- Supervise interns providing clinical services
- Work in partnership with the Clinical Intern Supervisor to provide guidance and support to clinical interns and create learning opportunities
- Handle mental health crisis situations involving program participants as needed
- Work closely with site partners, including program site staff, school representatives, and other community partners
- Make strategic connections with broader county and community-wide prevention efforts to enhance service delivery;
- Support and assist with the recruitment and engagement of program participants, including parents/guardians
- Build and maintain community partnerships with local school districts, public libraries, and other service providers
- Perform various community outreach activities to establish and cultivate community partnerships
- Attend county and local coalition meetings as they relate to community-based prevention initiatives and agency priorities
- Attend community events, e.g. health fairs, and resource fairs, as a representative of NEDFYS
- Track the provision of services using existing data collection methods and provide data to agency leadership and program partners
- Collect data for grant-related program reports
- Work with agency leadership to analyze data to inform policy, practice and service delivery
- Maintain all program records, including participant files, daily program plans and schedules, and attendance forms;
- Write and submit all program reports in a timely manner;
- Participate in regular training in order to increase knowledge or skills;
- Attend weekly supervision meetings
- Other duties assigned

**Requirements**:

- Master’s degree and full clinical licensure (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT) required;
- 4+ years of experience working with high-risk adolescents and families
- Experience developing and implementing positive youth development and violence prevention programs
- Some knowledge of trauma treatment modalities; _preferred_
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of people, including other staff members, community partners, agency administrators, and youth
- Flexible, organized, resourceful, self-starter
- Able to work well independently at times
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with required auto insurance in effect
- Bilingual (Spanish); _encouraged_

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
