Overview:
The primary duty of a Specialist Sales Associate is to promote Conn’s products and financing options through excellent customer service. Specialist Sales Associates are responsible for assisting our customers through all aspects of the buying process. Specialist Sales Associates are experts in our products and financing services with advanced knowledge in their specialty including electronics, appliances, and furniture, and are expected to be creative in offering solutions to each customer’s needs and overcoming objections. Specialist Sales Associates are required to work closely with store personnel to ensure store metrics are delivered in conjunction with a positive shopping experience. Must be comfortable interacting with customers, vendors and other third parties, often spending long periods walking around the store to answer questions about products or services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: The Specialist Sales Associate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Provide face to face assistance to customers through the buying process to include merchandise selection, payment, finance options, pick up and deliveries.
- Complete daily telephone calls to existing and potential customers.
- Generate new sales with our wide range of business services.
- Support colleagues and contribute to a positive and team focused environment.
- Ability to assist with merchandising and in store set up, which includes but is not limited to moving, building, cleaning, and maintaining showroom components.
- Deliver superior customer service as per company standards.
- Maintain awareness of current advertised merchandise and promotions.
- Collaborates with external and internal partners to identify and resolve customer issues.
- Develop and maintain sales materials and product knowledge across a wide range of categories.
- Establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships.
- Deliver key metrics and sales goals set by the company monthly.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all credit policies, procedures, and government regulations.
- Ability to maximize each sales opportunity by offering all applicable services, products, and attachments during all customer interactions.
- Participate in all Specialist Conference calls for designated department.
- Utilize and respond with urgency to retail communications sent weekly.
- Complete weekly checklists by close of business on Monday of each week
- Actively participate in all planogram moves, cleaning, and maintenance of your department
- Responsible for placement and upkeep of all promotional events and advertised materials for department.
- Work product from truck/back room within 48 hours for department from delivery ensuring all safety expectations are met by company standards.
- Mentoring, training, and following up on daily tasks related to your department.
- Act as a business leader, developing strategies and ownership for your department.
- Maintain Specialist Binder
- Perform all job functions with a high degree of integrity and honesty.
- Follow Conn’s 5 Steps of the Sale for all transactions per company guidelines.
- Comply with reasonable requests from management to perform other duties and responsibilities not listed above.

Key Holder Responsibilities (Third Key)
- Part of the management team along with Store Manager and Assistant/Operations Manager support in running the business.
- Responsible for opening or closing the building when scheduled (3rd keys only close on Tuesday/ Wednesday / Thursday and are not to close alone on the weekends.)
- Managing the store’s security alarm systems, including ensuring it is in proper working condition, enabling and disabling it when necessary.
- Storing and protecting security alarm codes, keeping personal codes and store codes confidential, and changing codes when requested/necessary.
- Following all opening and closing procedures defined by the company.
- Facilitate effective sales huddles and call centers during Manager on Duty shifts.
- Utilize the gap report, class category report, and scorecard to effectively manage business.
- Effectively T/O deals for all sales associates when needed.
- Support in cashier tasks and functions including cash handling, opening/closing of the register, processing payments, and processing service orders.
- Work operational tasks such as flybys, cycle counts, receiving and transferring of product, processing work orders, and processing returns and exchanges as necessary.

Required Experience
- Reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency
- Must meet minimum sales volume threshold per store level.
- The sales associate must also be achieving sales and metrics goals in the related department (i.e., Furniture and Furniture/bedding attachments, Appliances, or Electronics & TV attachments), and achieve the Company’s minimum acceptable CSAT and RSA goals.
