The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of athletic programs in the city. This role involves organizing sports leagues, scheduling games and practices, overseeing coaches and volunteers, ensuring participant safety, and promoting sportsmanship and skill development among young athletes. Other duties include providing information to the public, preparing the division budget, managing the operations, and assisting with planning and implementing special events. Reports directly to the Recreation Superintendent.

Annual Compensation - $59,680 - $87,157

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Develop and implement a diverse range of athletic programs suitable for various age groups and interests-plan and schedule league games, practices, and tournaments. Maintain accurate records of team rosters, game schedules, and participant registrations. Ensure compliance with league rules, regulations, and safety standards. This includes but is not limited to gathering supplies and equipment, preparing schedules, arranging for contractors, conducting registration, setting up venues, overseeing the program or event, providing activity plans, and evaluating the programs.
- Develop and manage program budgets, including revenue generation, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting. Seek opportunities for funding, sponsorships, and partnerships to support program sustainability and growth.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of recreation staff and volunteer coaches. Provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to staff and volunteers to ensure they deliver engaging and safe recreational experiences. Actively engage with area youth sports organizations.
- Maintain accurate records of program attendance, equipment inventory, and other relevant data. Assist with budget planning and management for recreational activities, including resource allocation and expenditure tracking. Prepare reports, evaluations and other documentation as required by management.
- Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and community stakeholders. Address concerns, solicit feedback, and maintain open lines of communication to enhance program satisfaction and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents/guardians, and staff regarding recreational activities, schedules, and any relevant updates or changes.
- Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and local youth groups to promote program participation and expand outreach efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines during recreational activities.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and facility walkthroughs to identify and address any potential hazards.
- Develop emergency action plans and protocols, and train staff and volunteers accordingly.
- Assist with other duties and responsibilities as needed.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, Physical Education, or related field.
- Any combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the level of required knowledge and abilities will be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in youth sports programming, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with participants, families, staff, and community partners.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards and best practices in youth athletics.
- Passion for promoting physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and positive youth development.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

- CPR/AED
- American Red Cross First Aid
- Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License
- Certified Park & Recreation Professional - Preferred
