**Qualifications** (Education must be from an accredited institution.)

Bachelor's degree and one year of human resources, research, quality assurance, or customer service work experience.

**Substitutions**:Experience in human resources, research, quality assurance, or customer service work can substitute for the required education on a year for year basis up to four years.
Additional graduate coursework in human resources can substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis up to one year.

**Summary**

**Summary**:This class is within the Department of Human Resources and functions at the working level under routine supervision and guidance. This class performs consultative work over a variety of functions within the Agency Resource Center such as time & labor, payroll, and HR related transactions; and other related work as required. This class differs than the Intermediate and Advanced level in that it does not train staff.

**Responsibilities**

1. Consults with internal and external customers in specific human resource areas, such as entering and approving of transactions and processing time and labor.

2. Processes and approves employee based transactions related to hiring, separations, pay adjustments, and other relevant transactions.

3. Enters, approves, and processes functions related to time & labor and payroll, such as: C7 lump sums, sick leave reinstatement, and pay supplementals. This includes other miscellaneous HR functions to ensure appropriate actions, pay, and records are executed for State employees.

4. Assists in internal process improvement projects such as SOP creation and process mapping.

5. Audits peers transactional work for accuracy to ensure ideal metrics and margin of error are achieved.

6. Maintains metric logs to track pay supplemental processing; job openings, including processing; and transactions.

7. Approves Classification and Compensation system transactions related to class upgrades, reallocations, and a variety of salary adjustments.

8. Serves as point of contact for agency HR by responding to general HR questions and fulfilling Zendesk requests.
