**Duties**:
**I. Victim Advocacy: 55%**
Serve as Victim Advocate for the FAP, providing assistance to and for victims of spouse/intimate partner abuse and non-offending parents/caregivers of victims of child abuse; and educating personnel regarding the most effective responses.

Screen victims of domestic abuse, evaluate needs, and provide with information about domestic violence, safe and ways to seek assistance, rights as Navy spouses, and resources/services available. Advise victims before disclosure of the limited confidentiality rule.

Coordinate with FAP Case Manager to develop plan of assistance/intervention for the victiM/Family members. Keep the clinical case manager informed of victim's situation and work with law enforcement and/or command when FAP Case Manager is absent.

Provide crisis intervention; assistance securing medical treatment; information on legal rights/resources available; education; transportation; pretrial, trial, and post-trial support/follow-up. Conduct support groups for parents of child abuse and adult victims of domestic abuse. Evaluate victims' needs and work with the victim to establish, review and revise a detailed individualized safety plan.

Provide advocacy services to non-offending parents/caregivers of identified victims of child abuse, including: safety planning, identifying resources, working with authorities, and creating an environment that facilitates the non-offending parent or caregivers' ability to support the child. Advocate for the expressed interests and safety of the victim when providing information to military/civilian courts; the Clinical Case Staff Meeting; and when accompanying victims to legal appointments/investigative interviews.

In coordination with the Family Advocacy Representative (FAR), report all suspected child abuse/neglect cases to child protective service authorities and report incidents to Military Police and Naval Criminal Investigative Services.

Provide child focused advocacy and support services to parents of children involved in cases of Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth (PSB-CY). Receive reports of problematic sexual behaviors in children and youth (PSB-CY) from military/civilian representatives. Provide/coordinate with other FAP providers to provide advocacy/support services access. Communicate with/provide services to parents to better support/assist their child. Inform the FAR/FAP clinical provider on observations to aid in the completion of tools in classifying the behavior and aid in referrals to the installation FAP.

Complete all required documentation in FFSMIS and the DoD Military Community and Family Policy PSB-CY Case Management System. Schedule/account for all PSB-CY appointments/meetings in FFSMIS. Prepare case reports and maintain contact with the FAP Clinical Supervisor/FAP Case Managers for all cases. Attend the PSB-CY Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).

Assist with facilitating FAP training and education services to ensure awareness of the continuum of sexual behaviors, risk pathways, indicators and impact of PSB-CY and the services available to them.

**II. Liaison and Program Awareness Duties: 45%**
Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with all action agencies. Ensure that the FAP case manager is aware of the victim's situation and enter written entries in the victim's FAP client record. Provide input to the FAP Manager on the establishment/implementation of policies/directives pertaining to the Family Advocacy Victim Advocate Program. Assist the Family Advocacy Educator with Community FAP education program activities. Coordinate with media to publicize information/programs available. Brief on policies, domestic abuse, treatment services, procedural requirements for handling domestic abuse cases, laws, and other information about family violence. Conduct classes for Family Support Groups and the community on the prevention of abuse. Research/network with resources that provide services to victims of domestic violence and/parents of child abuse victims.

Perform other duties as assigned.

- This is a non-critical sensitive position requiring access to IT II system and/or PII. Position requires employee to obtain and maintain eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- The incumbent must have or be able to obtain and maintain a current state driver’s license.
- Due to the nature of the work, the incumbent may serve in an “on call” duty status outside of normal work hours that includes remaining ready to perform work, carrying a cell-phone.
- An Access National Agency Check Investigation (ANACI) is required via the SF86 Security Form.
