The Upward Bound School Inc. is Doing Business as Ideal Development of Education Academy (IDEA) and is certified as a Non Public School (NPS). We partner with Local Educational Agencies (School Districts) & Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) to serve students of all abilities so that they may learn in the most beneficial educational setting.

We primarily contract with surrounding school districts in order to provide services by California Credentialed staff. Our objective is to prepare our students to be critical thinkers and productive members of society that strive to meet and exceed their expectations. As a result services are provided at 5600 Crescent Ave, Buena Park, Ca 90620.

**Required Qualifications**:
Pupil Personnel Services Credential that authorizes school psychology (required)
Or
Pupil Personnel Services Credential that authorizes school counseling
And optional
Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP)
Or
Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA)
Or
Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)

MA or MS in the field of education or related area
Current TB test within the past 3 months
Clear background check / livescan with the DOJ and FBI
Reliable transportation
California Driver’s License
Provide services during hours of 8:30am - 3:00pm

School Psychologist Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
Collaborate with student(s) or parent(s) to provide IEP related services that you are qualified for such as individual and group counseling, behavior support services, parent counseling, social work and/or adult transition services.
Maintain thorough and accurate records in order to document services for each session
Monitoring, tracking progress and providing support on IEP goal(s)
Give input in a concise and timely manner
Having excellent organizational skills
Submit hours serviced for each student the same day
Communicate with case manager(s) frequently
Provide input on present levels of performance for IEPs
Attend IEPs meetings in person or virtually in order to give input

**Environmental Conditions**:
No adverse environmental conditions expected

**Physical Activities / Physical Demands**:
Ascending or descending stairs.
Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments.
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Adjusting or moving objects up to 45 pounds in all directions.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Medium work that includes moving objects up to 85 pounds.
