Wildlife Educator

Job Functions:

- Daily general husbandry for permanent resident education ambassador animals
- Conduct educational outreach programs for youth audiences relating to wildlife native to Indiana
- Assist staff with adult education outreach programs when necessary
- Facilitate camps at both the Humane Indiana domestic shelter in Munster, IN as well as the Humane Indiana wildlife education center in Valparaiso, IN
- Maintain log for ambassador animal care daily
- Assist fulltime staff with wildlife rehabilitation patients when necessary
- Responsible for weekly cleaning of education center
- Assist with community partner related activities with availability to work week nights or weekends

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in education or science related field (can be in process of obtaining)
- At least one years’ experience facilitating camps or working with children
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

**Experience**:

- working with children: 1 year (preferred)
