Research Technician - Walton Laboratory

The Walton Lab is seeking a full-time Research Technician to be a key part of our research team. The research focus of our lab explores the regulatory mechanisms of the cytoskeleton in health and disease. Established in July 2024, working in the Walton Lab will provide you with hands-on experience in structural biology of macromolecular protein complexes, advanced biochemical purification techniques, and recombinant expression.

In this role, you will be provided training for the following responsibilities:

- Molecular and cell biology techniques (i.e. Western blots, immunofluorescence)
- Cryo-EM sample preparation and analysis
- Native isolation from tissue samples
- Assisting with general laboratory maintenance
- Detailed record keeping and adherence to protocols
- Bachelor of Science in Cell/Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related biomedical fields
- At least one (1) year of wet lab bench experience is preferred, but not required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and patience
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an active member of an integrated team
- Demonstrable written and oral communication skills
