**Purpose of this job**

In our Float/Warehouse role, every shift brings new challenges and opportunities. You will provide the team with flexibility and support to tackle various tasks and be redeployed where needed.

**What you’ll do**
- Work under the direction of the Production Manager and Inventory Control Supervisor within the Production Support department.
- Your daily responsibilities will vary depending on what projects or orders our team is working on, but your focus will fall into two categories: 1) warehouse and 2) shipping.
- Warehouse responsibilities include picking and distributing orders to production teams, unloading inbound materials from delivery trucks, ensuring proper labeling and storage, and engaging in inventory cycle counts.
- Shipping responsibilities include reading and interpreting sales orders to pack and ship them according to Hilman guidelines and specifications. You will properly label, securely close/fasten, and attach necessary stickers and codes to the outside of boxes and prepare pallets for shipping.
- Prepare Hilman products for tradeshows and demos.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment for movement of Work in Progress (WIP) and finished goods throughout the warehouse.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse and shipping areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Who you are**
- Prior experience in an industrial manufacturing environment using warehouse equipment preferred.
- You are organized, can prioritize multiple tasks, and effectively communicate with team members at all levels of our organization despite occasional differences in opinions or methods.
- Comfortable utilizing basic math skills, including ability to count, add, and subtract numbers quickly and accurately.
- Comfortable performing work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying conditions (noise, dust, varying temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks, etc.).

**Physical demands and work environment**
- This role is physically demanding and requires working in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- The job requires the ability to continually and safely lift, push, pull, and move items weighing between 75 - 100 lbs., as well as the ability to continually bend, squat, twist, and kneel.
- Steel-toe boots are required and your responsibility to purchase.
- Hilman, Inc. will provide gloves, safety glasses, box cutters, tape measures, and other necessary supplies.

Additional remarks regarding work environment: Hilman, Inc. provides all safety equipment except for steel toe work boots.

Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Shop computer, forklift, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, etc.
