Serves as an intermediary between patients, their families, staff, and physicians. Assesses each concern to determine its resolution. Provides feedback where appropriate and assures concern has been resolved. Shares information with Risk Management and Quality Assurance specifically, and other departments as appropriate, to ensure the appropriate information is available to those that may need it in the future. Facilitates the use of the Family Room for patient’s families. Provides training and counseling to patient advocate volunteers. Ability to serve adolescents, adults, and geriatrics patient populations.
II. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Requires skills in reading, report writing, and problem solving as acquired through a high school education.
2. Requires experience assessing and solving customer problems by using interpersonal, oral and written communication skills serving a variety of cultures.
3. Requires experience in utilization of skills specifically related to conflict management.
4. Requires demonstrated computer literacy and the ability to utilize additional software programs as implemented.
