**Position Overview**:
To provide support services for the purpose of family preservation and maintenance. The core function of the Kinship Coordinator is to ensure delivery of service within case management services for families, and support groups for kinship caregivers and children. The purpose is to assist in maintaining the kinship home, ensure families are connected to community services, culture and relationships are preserved. The Coordinator will provide case management to all families enrolled in the program. Components consist of monthly home visits, intake and assessment of needs, service planning and documentation of services provided to the families. This person will coordinate kinship support groups, educational information and ensure respite services are being provided. They will also complete the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) questionnaire. The Kinship Care Coordinator will provide direct supervision, as well as on-going support and training to the Kinship Family Specialists. Individual supervision will be provided by weekly and the alternating week will be group (if there is more than one Kinship Specialist) supervision.

**Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- The Kinship Coordinator will provide direct supervision to the Kinship Specialist.
- Kinship Coordinator will have a small caseload and provide case management services to families. Case management will entail a minimum of monthly, in-person, contact with the family, at which time the following processes will be followed: financial assistance, legal information and referrals, and information about other types of issues that caregivers face when raising children, in order to provide stability and preservation in the home. The Coordinator will attend family court with the kinship caregiver when needed.
- Kinship Coordinator will be conduct and complete the Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) questionnaire with each member of the kinship family within first 30 days of case opening.
- Kinship Coordinator will be responsible to work in partnership with the Assistant Foster Care Director during referral and intake of kinship family into the caregiver program.
- Kinship Coordinator will ensure that caregivers support groups as well as child support groups are being conducted and that families are actively participating. This will also include educational groups to the families centered on trauma informed care. Kinship Coordinator will conduct support groups in conjunction with the Kinship Specialist.
- Will ensure that children are safely maintained in the kinship home, families are connected to community services, and culture and relationships are preserved.
- Kinship Coordinator will provide caregiver support groups including, but not limited to, peer-to-peer support groups were conducted a minimum of one (1) time per month in each county served by the kinship caregiver program;
- Will provide support groups for all children in the kinship family were conducted a minimum of one (1) time per month in each county served by the kinship caregiver program;
- Case Management services will be provided to each family and catered to the individual family’s needs. Services are mandated to be documented on agency database program.
- The program will offer a minimum of three (3) community educational sessions per quarter in each county served.
- The program will offer a minimum of three (3) family engagement activities per quarter in each county served.
- Provide consultation and supervision to kinship families to assure family preservation through monthly home visits and weekly phone consultation.
