- Windy City Paws_ is looking for a dependable person to join our professional team as a **Dog Walker / Pet Sitter** This is a part-time, W-2 employed position that receives benefits like paid time off and 401(k) payroll contributions. You will also be eligible for a **$300 bonus** after a successful 90-day performance review. Additionally, you will be provided with paid training and education on dog and cat behavior throughout your tenure with us
As a _Windy City Paws_ **Dog Walker / Pet Sitter**, you’ll be committed to providing our clients with the highest level of care and attention:
- Prepare the dog or dogs in each household to go outside with the appropriate gear (leash, harness, etc.).
- Provide fun and enriching playtime for the full duration of the service (typically 30 or 60 minutes for dog walks or 2 hours for a pet sit).
- Provide food, water, and/or medication per client instructions and _Windy City Paws_ provided training.
- Clean up after dogs outside on walks and inside the homes if there are accidents and clean up litter boxes for cats.
**Chicago Service Areas**: Andersonville, Bucktown, Gold Coast, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Lincoln Square, Logan Square, Loop, North Center, Old Town, Ravenswood, River North, Roscoe Village, South Loop, Streeterville, West Loop, Wicker Park
**Qualifications for this position**:
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. and a minimum age of 21.
- Available without limitations from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
- Ability to commute to and around select _Chicago Service Areas_ (listed above).
- Capable of withstanding all weather conditions outside and several hours of walking each day.
- A smartphone with a data plan for communication and tracking walks.
- Prior experience with dogs and cats is a plus, but not required.
**Compensation**:
- Starting pay is $15.80 per hour for regular hours (8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday)
- Pay for evening hours (5pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday) and weekend hours (8am to 8pm, Saturday & Sunday) is $22.50 per hour
- The majority of our part-time **Dog Walkers / Pet Sitters** work between 10 to 25 hours per week
- _Windy City Paws_ pays employees per hour, so the commute time between dog walking and pet sitting appointments is compensated
