Automated Packaging Machine Inhouse/ Field

Tampa, United States Plan IT Packaging Systems Inc. Full time

Plan IT Packaging is a provider of weighing, bagging, wrapping, secondary and end of the line automated packaging equipment. We are looking for a service technician in our Tampa Bay Facility.
- Test, commission, and service of automated packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot machine operation issues remotely and at customer sites in the field.
- Service a large geographical territory, exercising leadership and ownership in an active approach to excellent customer service, preventative maintenance, and seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction.
- Provide training and technical support to Plan IT Packaging customers.
- Provide dispatch and special action reports, as necessary.
- Manage parts and service needs within the designated geographical territory, providing feedback to regional sales personnel and Triangle home office.
- Other job duties assigned.
- Availability for a high percentage (40-70%) travel time in monthly basis
- Would be hybrid to be able to set-up machine in the facility as well ready for factory testing.
- Two to five years of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Field Technician or similar experience.
- Ability to work safely in low voltage (24V) and high voltage electrical environments (120V-480V).
- Ability to work safely with high heat machine parts, up to excess of five hundred (500) degrees Fahrenheit.
- Possess an established troubleshooting process that includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills: Able to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization with the ability to identify and clarify missing information or unclear requirements proactively.
- Act with a sense of urgency, while maintaining a high standard of quality of work.
- Ability to leverage organization, protocol, and remote support to act efficiently.
- Ability to juggle multiple issues at once and stay calm under pressure.
- Possess knowledge of safety, sanitation, and electrical codes.
- Ability to follow good manufacturing practices (GMP)
- Ability to read computer aided draft (CAD) models, electrical schematics, die lines, and line layouts.
- Proficiency with MS office products (Excel, OneNote, Word etc.) and ability to learn Microsoft Dynamics ERP.
