This position requires a valid Class (E) driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Department's Drivers Record Requirements Policy. An unacceptable driving record is defined as any of the following:

- three (3) or more moving violations in the past 3 years that accumulate 3 or more points per violation;
- any 2 convictions of reckless driving in the past 3 years;
- a suspension or revocation of the driver license for moving violations in the past 3 years; and
- a suspension or revocation for refusal to take a sobriety test, or any suspension or revocation for a DUI conviction in the past 4 years

Your driving record will be reviewed and the status of your driver license confirmed.

: Assists with operating a variety of vehicles and mechanized equipment to include backhoe, tractors with attachments, crew cabs, and dump truck once a Class B License Instructional Permit is obtained. Performs pre-trip inspection/minor maintenance on vehicles/equipment. Cleans and washes equipment.

Uses small hand, power and pneumatic tools. Examples include shovels, hammers, drills, handheld string and blade trimmers, push mowers, saws, jackhammers, etc. The duties and responsibilities are done in the performance and completion of one or more of the following assignments; repairs and/or replaces guardrails, attenuators and/or fences, assists in the repair of asphalt/concrete surfaces, cuts, trims, and removes trees, shrubs and vegetation, assists in shoulder restoration including mulching, seeding, fertilizing, etc., removes litter and debris, performs large and small machine mowing, assists in repair, replacement and/or cleaning of drainage structures, assists in installation and/or removal of signs.

Inspects and performs light maintenance on tools, equipment and vehicles.

Flags traffic and/or places or removes traffic control devices.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**: KNOWLEDGE OF TYPICAL CONSTRUCTION MEASURING TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, OR INSTRUMENTS AND STANDARD SAFETY TECHNIQUES. SKILLED IN: OPERATING A VARIETY OF HAND AND POWER TOOLS; ABILITY TO: READ AND UNDERSTAND JOB-RELATED MATERIALS AND FILL OUT REPORTS AND FORMS. MAINTAIN AND REPAIR HIGHWAYS, BRIDGES AND/OR OTHER HIGHWAY STRUCTURES; COMMUNICATE BOTH VERBALLY AND IN WRITING, INCLUDING FOLLOWING ORALNVRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS; DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN EFFECTIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS; LIFT, CARRY, AND
