**Duties**:

- You will mentor and train junior contract specialist, briefs department senior leadership on acquisition related matters; provides acquisition training to requirements personnel/customers and performs contracting officer warrant duties.
- You will work with various types of contracts, including cost-reimbursement, fixed price and incentive pricing structures, awards from Broad Agency Announcements, and completion type contracts.
- You will Perform and/or lead others in developing or performing acquisition plans, source selection plans, formal solicitations; business clearance memorandums and performing cost/price analysis, as well as cost realism analysis.
- You will perform independently and lead in the drafting of acquisition related policies and processes.
- You will do pre and post award type work.

- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field C - Contracting Level 3. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- The location for this position can be on-site, local remote or distant remote.

**Qualifications**:

- Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or NO-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing guidance to contract specialist and program/customer personnel in planning, negotiating, and administering contracts; providing contract support.- and- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

**Education**:
Minimum education requirements for 1102 series:
A. A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.

**Additional information**:
This position is in the Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Human Resource Management System pay band for Department of Defense laboratories.

The pay schedule and pay band for all Administrative Specialist/Professional Positions will be NO-1/2/3/4/5/6.

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
