**Computer Draftsman**:
Cogbill Construction, in Vidor, TX, is looking for a **Computer Draftsman/Designer **to perform the following tasks:
1- Draw and design two-dimensional parts and components for engineering drawings and/or to be processed on our Plasma CNC table.
2- Assist our estimation department with material takeoffs, and possibly become an estimator.
3- Go to customer job sites and sketch structures, parts, and components, and prepare and present reports on conditions, environments, dimensions, requirements, operations, etc.
4- Help implement quality standards and document processes in all related activities
**Requirements**:
- **MUST RESIDE IN THE SOUTHEAST TEXAS REGION**:
- _2-6_ years experience as a Draftsman
- Possess a 2-year **associate degree **in drafting from an accredited college or university
- Willingness to work in the fabrication shop as well as customer worksites
- Willingness to observe all safety rules, including shaving whenever required
- Proficient in reading plate/structural/pipe blueprints and layouts
- Knowledge of the various aspects of structural design
- Pass drug and background checks.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
**Preferences**:
- Ability to do material take-offs and some cost-estimating
- A person who could develop into becoming a cost estimator in metal fabrication
- Ability to assist our marketing department with graphics designs and AutoCAD 3D rendering and animation
- Strong communication and computer skills and professional appearance
