**Mission**

Reeves Company is looking for an experienced **Asphalt Milling Machine Operator **based out of **Duncan, SC l**ocation. This is a **highly skilled position** involving the control and operation of an asphalt milling machine as well as a skid steer with milling head and power broom attachment.

**Essential Duties of Asphalt Milling Machine Operator**:

- Must be able to operate **an asphalt milling machine** while capable of maintaining the depth of cut and cross slope that will achieve the results specified in the project contract documents.
- Able to remove existing asphalt pavement by milling to improve the ride ability and cross slope of the pavement, to lower the finished grade adjacent to existing curb prior to resurfacing, or to completely remove existing pavement.
- Understand and follow specific plans to specify an average depth of cut.
- Operate the asphalt milling machine with a built-in automatic grade control system while controlling the transverse slope and the longitudinal profile to produce the specified results.
- Operate and limit the amount of dust escaping during the removal operation.
- Able to complete pavement removal, the operator may use alternate removal and crushing equipment in lieu of the equipment specified.
- Must have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.
- Must keep equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
- Must have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the Company.
- Must be able travel.

**Qualifications of Asphalt Milling Machine Operator**:

- **Must have at least 2 years of asphalt milling and/or paving experience, with emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.**:

- Familiarity with dump trucks & paving equipment (preferred).
- **Driving License (required) **along with a driving record that meets company safety guidelines to operate a company vehicle (required).
- **Must be able to pass a DOT Physical for a DOT Medical card (required).**:

- Must adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Reeves Construction Company safety regulations.
- Provide own transportation to and from work.
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail.

- The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses.
