Housekeeping Supervisor-Veterinary Hospital
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Keeping hospital clean and odor free
- Continuously cycling hospital laundry; cleaning, folding, and distributing in patient care areas throughout the hospital
- Clean public and employee bathrooms, restock paper products
- Cleaning up pet waste/accidents
- Daily maintenance of floors (sweep, vacuum, mop),
- Cleaning and disinfecting surface areas (chairs, counters, doorknobs, railings, etc.)
- Outdoor upkeep including: sweeping sidewalks, pet waste removal; occasional snow removal from client walking areas
- Lead a team of 8 or more direct reports
- Learn all aspects of the housekeeping responsibilities
- Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as needed
- Full employee life-cycle supervision including: hire/onboard, training and development, maintain employee schedules, provide employee feedback and evaluations, conflict resolution and mediation, corrective action up to and including termination, and succession planning
- Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations
- Maintain OSHA compliance throughout the hospital
Qualifications:
- Ability to speak and read English
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable working around dogs and cats
- Professional, pleasant, engaged, clear communicator who is attentive and respectful to clients, and co-workers.
- Experience as a shift lead or supervisor (2 years preferred)
- Work a combination of day and evening shifts, one weekend shift per week, and some holidays
- Demonstrated ability to inspire trust and openness amongst colleagues and clients together with a reputation for high personal integrity.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication; ability to influence and articulate a variety of issues to different audiences, tailoring messages accordingly
- Proficient time management, ability to problem solve, learn, and handle multiple tasks
- Enthusiastic team player with a patient and positive professional attitude

OSVS is located in East Greenwich, RI with a satellite facility in Swansea, MA. OSVS is a 35,000-sf building with a very busy emergency service, a nationally respected internship and residency program, and specialists in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Avian/Exotics. Specialized equipment includes telemetry, endoscopy, CT scanner, ultrasound, and MRI.
