Rutabaga is seeking a full time food prep chef that is able to complete our daily food prep and juice prep needs. You must be reliable, food safety certified and capable of managing your time and standards independently. This is not a 'service kitchen' environment. This role does not serve guests to order. This position is responsible for a daily production schedule that must be fulfilled independently. _

Specifically for this position, we are looking for someone who can fulfill 6am to 2pm shifts daily 5 days per week, including a commitment to a weekend day as part of your availability.

**Essential Duties**
- Prepare Rutabaga food and juice to Rutabaga recipes precisely
- Must maintain a high standard of quality and cleanliness. We expect our food prep personnel to maintain tidy work stations throughout their shifts and leave our Kitchens very clean. You are responsible for cleaning down the kitchen at the end of your shift.
- Manage your time effectively to achieve the make schedule goals. This is not a 'service kitchen' therefor you are provided production expectations. We expect our team to work with proficiency in our kitchens always.
- Basic food prep skills include knife skills, chopping, dicing, mixing, blending, as well as operating specialty juicer equipment.
- Our Food prep team are responsible for maintaining and cleaning all equipment utilized by them for the day.
- Take a daily inventory to support management ordering processes.
- Maintain all inventory in clean, organizes and properly dated and FIFO'd rotation.
- ServSafe certified is a requirement. Atleast 2 years in a food prep role required.

**Qualifications**
- At least 2 years in a food prep position
- Servsafe food handler certified
- Knife skills and safety trained
- comfort with managing time and holding yourself to our standards and expectations.
- Reliable commute to work
- Good communication skills to work with our FOH team on food production needs
- reliable & dependable
- Open and receptive to feedback and growth

**Schedule**
- Shifts 8 hours
- Shifts begin as early as 6am and end by 2pm.
- Some Weekend availability required
- This is a 5 day per week position.
- Must have your own means of transportation or be comfortable using Lyft, Uber or Ride Shares to ensure you arrive at work as scheduled.

**Working Conditions**
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb step ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders, and squat.
- Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 lbs. Push and pull carts up to 100lbs.
- Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, freezers, outdoors, etc)

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
