**Road Maintenance Technician**

**Position Summary**

Responsible for maintaining contract assets such as roadways, medians, guardrails, highway markers, signs, bridges etc., per specifications and as directed by the Supervisor.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Maintain highways and rights-of-way, perform roadway repairs
- Maintain and repair guardrails - New Installation and Removal
- Maintain roadway signs, fence, and lighting with repairs or new installations using hand or power tools
- Remove and dispose of debris from highways and medians
- Set up and removal of Traffic Control zones including cones, barricades, message & arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.
- Assist in identifying, repairing and installing signs, delineators, mailbox supports and posts
- Transport supplies, materials, and equipment to job site
- Repair and maintain functionality of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, etc. through use of shovel and other hand or power tools and equipment
- Maintain medians, side of roadways, and ditches utilizing lawn mowing equipment & tractors, trimmers, sprayers, and hand tools
- Must be comfortable working from heights, such as a bucket truck, scaffolds, ladders, and platforms
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections, routine servicing, and minor repairs on equipment
- Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- Practice safe work methods to remain accident and injury-free
- Ability to work under exposure during inclement weather conditions
- Ability to recognize hazards inherit in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury, or accident
- Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment appropriate to your job
- Ability to cooperate and communicate written or verbally with co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to perform basic math functions - add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate proportions, percentages, and measurements
- Ability to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to comply with contractual requirements
- Ability to work flexibly and willingness to work extensively to meet business needs
- High-level attention to detail
- Take ownership of responsibilities
- Basic knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools and equipment - used in concrete, construction, and maintenance
- Skill in the use and care of small hand power tools associated with the work
- Ability to interface with the public in a professional manner
- 24/7 Operations - Availability for holidays, nights, weekends, overtime, and 3rd shift are required
- On-call duties as assigned
- Must be willing and able to respond within contractual guidelines and timeframes
- Basic knowledge of technology such as Smartphones

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
