**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Oversees the Speech and Debate program at Waring School
- Schedules matches/tournaments
- Recruits, coaches students during Electives and Afternoon Activities periods
- Enlists parent/guardian volunteer opportunities (including judging debates)
- Collaborates with colleagues to integrate Speech/Debate into other areas of the curriculum
- Participates in other aspects of the Waring program (e.g. in All-School Meeting) and attends events (performances, parent coffees, admissions open houses, etc.) as appropriate

**Key Qualifications and Experience**:
**Schedule**: Part-time within the academic year, with preparation work over the summer as appropriate. Debate meets during Monday electives (Monday afternoons) and, depending on the season or group of students, during other afternoons during the academic year. From time to time, there are opportunities for Debate to collaborate/integrate within other areas/disciplines in the school (e.g. Humanities, Science, French). Regional/National tournaments occur on the weekends as scheduled externally.
