As a key member of the administrative team supporting the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Philanthropic Engagement (PE), the Philanthropy Administrator provides a high level of business and operations support as well as project coordination for the PE department. PE is comprised of four teams - Direct Marketing, Donor Communications, Grateful Giving and Donor Relations, and Peer to Peer - that work creatively and collaboratively to engage philanthropic donors. The core functions of PE, therefore, are critical to the success of the institution's comprehensive fundraising campaign and to advancing MD Anderson's mission.

In support of the AVP and PE department, the Philanthropy Administrator uses self-direction and strategic thinking to balance simultaneous projects and requests, prioritizing and executing in appropriate sequence on a variety of administrative responsibilities. Core requirements for this position are the ability to manage task switching among competing projects with varied stakeholders and the ability to bring all work to resolution with timeliness and keen attention to detail and completeness.

It is essential that this team member handles all matters with confidentiality and prudence.

**KEY FUNCTIONS**

**Philanthropic Business Support - 50%**
- Manage the department's SharePoint and Teams sites to establish a robust, reliable source of timely information and to ensure clear, consistent messaging across channels

**Team Operations - 30%**
- Analyze and manage department budget to ensure institutional compliance and proper stewardship of funds
- Monitor the department's key performance indicators, adherence to division policies and compliance with institutional mandatory training
- Oversee successful logistics of department retreats, events and other complex meetings

**Project Coordination - 20%**

Successfully execute and complete project requirements for various team initiatives, keeping all stakeholders apprised of progress with satisfactory deliverables.
- Develop and coordinate team-building and engagement activities that promote Philanthropy's norms and initiatives and strengthen PE's culture in a 100% remote environment
- Establish and coordinate the department's onboarding of new PE team members
- Drive collaboration among PE team leaders to execute on department initiatives

**EDUCATION**

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism or related field.

**EXPERIENCE**

Required: Three years of direct experience in development operations. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred: Experience working at MD Anderson or other University of Texas institution. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the Concur travel/expense system.
