**Job Summary**:
The Exodus Crisis Response, Evaluation, and De-Escalation team (CRED) responds to non-violent calls that may have a social services impact including but not limited to (a) mental health, (b) substance abuse, (c) suicide threat, (d) behavioral distress, (e) conflict resolution, and (f) welfare checks.

integrated physical and mental health status of clients in crisis, working in tandem with the Crisis Intervention Specialist. Exceptional communication and de-escalation skills will contribute to quality assessments and applicable interventions. Resolving crises in the community will call for an ability to be flexible, adaptable, and resourceful.

The Mobile EMT/Nurse will assist and assess clients in the field, responsible for medical and psychiatric assessments of clients and for providing appropriate care and service connection in accordance with scope of practice and program policies. The work will include assisting with de-escalation and general crisis intervention through utilization of behavioral health interventions and evidence-based practices. This role provides direct clinical services to a complex group of clients who may have multiple conditions including severe and persistent mental illness, substance use, chronic physical health illness, trauma, homelessness, etc. There will also be opportunities for community outreach and education

**Note: This program operates 24-hours per day, 7 days per week, including all holidays.**

This CRED Program hiring will cover a service area in Southeast LA, including neighborhoods of Athens Park, Harbor Gateway, Jordan Downs, Nickerson Gardens, San Miguel, and Watts.

**Requirements**:

- Currently licensed as an EMT in California
- High school graduate or GED
- CPR for healthcare professionals certified or able to ascertain certification
- Ability to pass a stringent criminal background check and driving record review
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and show mature judgment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

**Preferred**:

- Two years of experience in crisis intervention or delivery of mental health services in nontraditional settings

**Physical Demands**:

- Subject to varying, unpredictable situations, emergency, and/or crisis situations
- Ability to drive and to repeatedly climb in and out of a commercial van
- Ability to operate a cell phone, push-to-talk radio, tablet, and/or lap-top computer
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb stairs; sit; move in any type of terrain; use hands-to-finger, visual acuity to operate equipment and read technical information; type quickly; reach with hands and arms; coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously; collect, interpret, and/ or analyze complex data and information; talk; and hear
