The Equipment Inspector shall be able to perform all the tasks of a Motor Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic. They shall be knowledgeable in the Technical Inspections of a wide variety of military equipment to include wheeled vehicles, construction equipment, special purpose equipment, and track vehicles. The contractor shall possess all required training certifications or possess at least 3 to 4 years of on-the-job experience verifiable by the previous employer(s). Shall be able to conduct initial inspections, research repair parts and maintenance requirements.

Shall be able to troubleshoot and isolate various engine, electrical, air, and wiring components for repair or replacement on various types of equipment. Shall be able to lead and instruct junior mechanics in the repair and maintenance of various types of equipment. Shall be able to evaluate work to ensure that it has been completed in accordance with standards and specifications. Responsible for completing forms and work orders in a timely manner.

Able to review work orders for discrepancies and bring any discrepancies to supervisor. The Inspector should possess the ability to research repair part discrepancies, identify manufacturing quality deficiencies, and report findings through proper supply channels.
