**Job Description**:
About the Role

The incumbent will report to the Philip D. Nathanson Curator of Photography but will work under the direction of the two curators of the “This Land Is...”/ America at 250 library exhibition, helps to support and facilitate the development of a temporary 3,800-square-foot library exhibition (books, manuscripts, photographs, artworks, objects, etc.) on the contested history of land in what is now the United States. On behalf of the curators, provides interdivisional curatorial, research and administrative support for the project. Position will have regular contact with staff at all levels, as well as contact with external stakeholders and the public.

Essential Duties- Provides administrative support for curators in monitoring and tracking day-to-day implementation schedule in collaboration with exhibition coordinator to ensure deliverables are met.- Participates in content research, and storyline development for the exhibition.- Requests and helps to track special collection material in support of exhibition development; works closely with Registrar and other staff as applicable to collection movements.- Assist curators in initial checklist development, maintenance, correspondence and share updates pertaining to objects with Registrar, Exhibition Coordinator, Designers and other key stakeholders.- Conducts lender research and communication for potential items to be borrowed from other institutions and individuals for use in the exhibit and tracks accordingly.- Helps to track collections items to be used in the exhibition through paging system and updates curatorial checklist and key stakeholders as applicable.- Assist curators in writing gallery texts and with copyediting. Supports curators and copyeditor in tracking and organizing gallery text to meet deliverables.- Supports curators in reviewing gallery elevations and construction drawings to ensure objects are identified correctly, are organized to the confirmed thematic sections, and adheres to curatorial design planning.- Serves as project liaison for the exhibition with the Art and Botanical divisions, President’s Office, and other departments in The Huntington’s broader “America at 250” initiative, to ensure communication between exhibition planning team and broader Huntington is successful.-
- Coordinates with evaluation manager on exhibit evaluation, including prototyping and summative phases.- Consults and reviews materials for website, digital initiatives, press and marketing materials, and education materials.- Writes and delivers summary reports on project as needed.- As needed, performs general clerical duties related to exhibition prep such as filing, copying, creating and updating spreadsheet, calendaring meetings, creating meeting minutes and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Broad knowledge of exhibitions, including elements of fabrication and installation.- Knowledge of exhibit interpretation practices.-
- Understanding of scholarly research and bibliographic tools.- Highly organized and able to work to deadlines.- Strong written and oral communication skills.

**Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced Humanities degree in relevant field preferred.- Prior exhibition and project management experience highly preferred.- Experience coordinating fabrication and installation of exhibits.- Experience working successfully in collaborative project teams.
