**Duties**:

- Ensure staff is properly trained in all aspects of risk and safety, including infection control, environmental hazards and medication errors.
- Develops and presents to the wing/medical executive staff, protocols for the management of evolving medical standards for newly designated “waiverable” medical conditions or medications.
- Ensures required forms are appropriately accomplished by medical providers.
- Conducts comprehensive analysis of medical documentation for the purpose of obtaining medical waivers for aviators or other special operational duty personnel.

- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position
- All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).

- **Basic Requirement for a **Health System Specialist**:
**Specialized Experience**:One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting in the development and implementation of effective patient care systems; utilizing data from databases to monitor, trend, and analyze objective performance measures; and assisting with managing daily operations.
- **OR**

**Education**:Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
- **OR**

**Combination of Education and Experience**: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
