Landscaper (Conservation)

**Conservation Landscaper**

Maranatha Farm is looking for individuals with basic landscaping experience who are interested in assisting with our stewardship programs. The Intention of our 4 year old start-up farm located in Peapack, NJ is to practice regenerative agriculture and forestry. The majority of the work on the farm is based around conservation so residential landscaping experience is not a requirement for this position.

**Essential Responsibilities**
- Tasks under direction of the Farm Operations Steward:

- Invasive species management (hand removal, string trimming, mowing, etc.)
- Conservation grade planting, protecting and watering
- Trail care (chipping, clearing, trimming)
- Farm support (harvesting, mulching beds, pasture seeding, etc.)
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by owner

**Required Skills, Physical Qualifications and Competencies**:

- Prior experience working in outdoor conditions
- Agricultural experience of any variety is a plus
- Knowledge of NJ invasive plant species a plus (Stilt Grass, Thistle, Mugwort, etc.)
- Ability to safely operate power equipment (lawnmowers, chainsaws, string trimmers)
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles (UTVs, Skidsteer, Pickup truck)
- Properly use and maintain shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, hand shears, and loppers
- The ability to repeatedly and safely lift 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all times
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn

**Compensation Package**:

- Current Position Available May 1st - November 22nd 2024; possibility of advancement to permanent position based on end of season staffing requirements
- Salary: Commensurate with experience ($15-$25 per hour)
- Paid Time Off (rate of one 1 hour per 30 hours of service)
- Housing is not provided with this position

**Job Types**: Temporary, Seasonal

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
