**Job Summary**:
The infusion nurse is responsible for administering medications, fluids, and other therapies intravenously to patients under the direction of a physician or other healthcare provider. They monitor patients during infusion therapy, assess their response to treatment, and provide education and support to patients and their families.

**Responsibilities**:

- Proficiently and independently assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents the daily care of assigned patients
- Proficiently executes physician's orders for all assigned patients.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, creativity, and versatility in problem-solving and handling complex situations.
- Monitor fluid tubes, check infusions, and make sure that medications implemented are not counteracting each other or causing a patient harm.
- Perform venipuncture, accessed implanted ports, maintained peripheral IV lines
- Administered medication for Infectious Diseases, Rheumatology, oncology, and IVIG. This included mixing medications and inserting IVs while maintaining a safe environment
- Maintained accurate, detailed reports and records
- Consulted and coordinated with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
- Safely administer blood and blood products
- Assesses patient progress, collaborating with other nursing staff when needed, in accordance with the nursing process and established plan of care.
- Perform infusions and monitor of patient's status throughout the entire infusion as well as manage emergency reactions.
- Need to be sympathetic to a patient's needs, and be able to deal with people in various states of pain, trauma, and tragedy.
- Might face an emergency, life-or-death situations and able to function in the heat of an emergency.
- Creatively identifies opportunities for improvement in all aspects of the clinic.
- Assists with the implementation of policies and programs.
- Effectively communicates with medical, clinical, and clerical staff to ensure the efficient operations of the clinic.
- Effectively communicates with patients and visitors to resolve inquiries.
- Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Utilizes and values patient, internal (performance evaluation), and external (patient satisfaction data) feedback to continuously improve performance.
- Ability to travel to different clinics, as needed
- Performs related duties as required.

**Working Environment**:

- The work environment is located in a comfortable indoor area.
- Conditions such as noise, odors, cramped workspace, and/or fumes may sometimes cause discomfort.
- Moderate to extreme physical effort may be required, such as walking, standing, performing CPR, and lifting materials, equipment, objects, and/or patients.
- Vision, hearing, talking, and sense of touch abilities must be adequate to enable one to quickly and accurately perform tasks such as reading small print, reading from monitoring equipment, defining details, and sending and receiving clear and accurate oral communication.
- Frequent periods of concentrated or focused attention will be needed to interpret visual, auditory, and sensory inputs.
- Alertness and careful attention to detail will be required to avoid injury.
- May be exposed to occupational hazards such as communicable diseases and disoriented or combative patients.
- Will work closely with the EMR to ensure training material is properly created, maintained, and updated.
- Understand details around the knowledge of Clinical workflow as it pertains to the use of Electronic Medical Records.
- Provides coaching support to new staff to ensure compliance and consistency in the clinics
- Willing to travel

**Requirements**:

- Graduate from an accredited school of professional vocation or associate degree in nursing with current Texas licensure.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience with one (1) year experience in a home health agency, preferred.
- Willing to travel for training
- Understands regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations
- Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality
