**Finisher I**

Production (Finishing Department)

N/A (no supervising responsibilities)

SUMMARY:
Finisher I is responsible for completing all finishing operations in accordance with traveler and process requirements. These operations could include: deburring, polishing, and cleaning.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform a job-by-job and daily station cleaning of work space per customer and/or PSP process requirements.
- Finish (deburr, polish, or clean) parts based on traveler, drawing, and work instruction requirements. Immediately contact your supervisor if you do not understand a requirement on one of these documents, or if you detect a conflict between them. The traveler, drawing, and work instructions must always be thoroughly reviewed prior to beginning any operations.
- Submit all First Article Inspection (FAI) parts to the QA department in accordance with applicable processes. Work with QA to correct any issues on failed parts, and ensure all submitted FAI parts are appropriately documented and approved before performing work on an entire batch.
- Handle all parts delicately, maintain traceability, and take proactive measures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Log all accepted and scrapped quantities in the ERP system and on any applicable documents.
- Ensure all substances and containers have the appropriate labels, and relabel containers as needed. New labels may be requested in the front office or through your supervisor.
- Ensure supplies and substances are handled, returned, and stored safely per applicable policies and procedures. If new or additional personal protective equipment is needed in your area, communicate the needs to your supervisor.
- Stage parts in the proper place with appropriate identification.
- Work closely with the Finish Lead, other team members, and the QA department to receive feedback and training on any new parts or new operations. If changes to a document/process are needed, ensure they are communicated to and approved by the appropriate personnel before implementing the changes.
- Participate in audit and customer visit preparations, and ensure your area is audit-ready every day.

Position Limitations to be Aware of:
Please be aware that this position is NOT allowed to perform any of the following tasks without the close supervision of the Finishing Lead or another highly trained and approved team member:

- Any work on medical class 3 or critical AS9100 controlled product
- Perform incoming inspection
- Perform first part inspections
- Changes to the traveler (must go through approval process, sometimes involving front office team members)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Audit preparations and participation
- 6S Participation
- Attend meetings as required
- Sign-up for and attend required trainings
- Assist with on-the-job trainings that may take place in this department, including observations by colleagues
- Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

- Basic skills for reading, writing, and some arithmetic required.
- Ability to read, speak, understand, and occasionally write in English.
- Experience in field of machining or related industry is preferred, but not required.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small parts.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; more with mechanical assistance.
- Must be reliable and a team player.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Comfortable working under a microscope for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable receiving feedback and asking questions.
- Function well in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and adaptive to change.

**Requirements**:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 30 pounds. When on the manufacturing floor, safety glasses and closed toed shoes are required (safety glasses are provided). Ear plugs are available and are optional when working around loud equipment. The dress code is business casual. Upon request, a company smock may be provided to those working on the manufacturing floor. Open food and drinks are strictly prohibited on the manufacturing floor, shipping area, and quality department at all times.
