Johns Hopkins University has developed an ambitious vision to continue to integrate life design, experiential learning, and mentoring in the academic and co-curricular learning experience for all students and postdoctoral fellows. Under the leadership of Dr. Farouk Dey, the inaugural vice provost for integrative learning and life design, the university has announced the creation of three new departments and several new initiatives and mission that will ensure that every student and postdoctoral fellow will have the ability to pursue life purpose regardless of background, field of study, or social capital. **Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
- Actively assisting to foster and maintain relationships with sector-specific employers, alumni, and professional associations, with whom Global Careers has an established relationship, and assist in identification of new employer contacts for the purposes of developing and maintaining sector-specific knowledge and fostering potential job and internship prospects, and employer-facing experiential learning. This includes resume collections and on-campus presentations.
- Counseling and/or co-coaching students primarily in group settings and via workshops in all aspects of their professional development, including clarification of career goals, providing current information on specific career fields and employment trends, developing effective industry-specific documents (e.g. resumes, cover letters) and advising on conducting effective employment searches.
- Co-developing career information and employment-related programs for students and alumni relevant to their specific needs, to include but not limited to, career panels, career fairs, treks, site visits to employers, and any other type of employer-facing experiential learning programs.
- Assisting in marketing SAIS degrees to affect increased opportunities for student employment and internships as well as employer-facing experiential learning.
- Maintaining employer and internship data and contacts in relevant sectors of employment. Shares with employers to facilitate on-going engagement.
- Monitoring sector and institutional employment and compensation trends.
- Engaging alumni to actively support the professional development of students.
- Assisting in identifying collaborative relationships with faculty and staff.
- Collaborating with and advising student leadership in assigned Career Clubs including program planning, recruitment strategies, creating career-specific educational materials and developing alumni and employer contacts.
- May travel locally, nationally, and internationally for networking and other program-related activities.
- Daily contact with students and alumni, either in a counseling, one-on-one role or in teaching/co-teaching career courses and workshops, as well as. Ssector-specific contacts and employers on a regular basis.
- Regular contact with faculty and staff, assessing needs of students from various departments and coordinating with Associate Director(s) on career services programming with academic units, with other SAIS administrative offices and Johns Hopkins student services offices whenever appropriate.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

- Flexibility with hours, especially during periods when programs may extend outside of regular work hours, including limited weekend work.
- Willingness to travel.
- An international background and cross-cultural sensitivity to international employment issues and sectors.
- Strong multicultural competency and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse population.

**Physical Requirements**
- This position requires a degree of mobility common to working in an office environment.
- Our new vision is focused on scalability of resources and services and does not utilize a one-on-one appointment model.
- For this transformation to work, traditional one-on-one counseling and coaching services are taking a backseat to a culture of scalable programs and interventions.
