**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY**:
The Human Resources Generalist position coordinates and administers HR-related policies and programs. Assist and advise managers about Human Resources issues. The HR Generalist reports to the Human Resources Manager in West Bend, WI and carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, benefits administration, and employment law compliance.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist with employee relations issues; confer with the department supervisors, HR Manager, and senior management staff concerning employee disciplinary action.
- Assist in the management of workers’ compensation caseload. Work with the safety team on safety-related issues. Actively participate in the Safety Caution Crew program.
- Identify training needs and coordinate relevant training programs for warehouse employees.
- Assist with new hire orientation and perform necessary follow-up work on new employees during probationary periods.
- Assist with the performance appraisal process, working with management and HR Manager on employee merit increases and performance improvement plans.
- Offer assistance to the HR Manager in areas of policy, legal/government compliance, handbook updates, benefits, compensation and other matters affecting department/company operations.
- Assist and participate in employee terminations.
- Administer employee benefits programs in accordance with company policies and practices.
- Coordinate and assist in annual open enrollment benefit meetings.
- Coordinate and animate the employee recognition program.
- Compile monthly HR reports/metrics.
- Coordinate information through the corporate payroll department as needed.
- Complete local wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rates.
- Assist in the preparation of the Human Resources budget.
- Other related duties and projects as assigned.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a warehouse or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, and best practices.

**EXPERTISE**:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Google Suite

**EDUCATION**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- PHR or SPHR certification is preferred but not required.

**INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS**:

- Regular interaction with warehouse employees is required to understand and address their needs effectively.
- Daily interaction with the site Supervisors and General Manager
- Corporate HR team, AP/AR team, Parts Support team
- External connections with staffing agencies, vendors, community organizations

**LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED**:

- This position is located in Belvidere, Illinois
- Travel up to 5%
