Description:

- The Molding and Panel Sander will provide properly prepared moldings and other parts to the Whitewood Inspection department.
- Select and cut moldings to the proper length.
- Identifies and corrects blemishes in moldings and other products in the production process.
- Gathers all available information by reading job orders, stickers, and production schedule to understand what is required for each molding and the order to complete the work.
- Identifies wood species in order to use the appropriate color wood patch to fill joints, voids, and nicks.
- Selects the appropriate sandpaper for the required function and ensures the sandpaper has sufficient grit to sand efficiently and properly.
- Checks moldings for proper sanding and sands any remaining imperfections to ensure a proper finished surface.
- Inspects all completed work, looking for imperfections such excess glue, loose pieces, and blemishes. Corrects the problem, if able to, or informs supervisor of issue.
- Keeps moldings organized by job number throughout sanding operation. Transports complete jobs to the next operation.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to use the proper patching and sanding procedures to insure the best possible surface is ready for Finishing.
- Ability to lift, position, and move products including various sized moldings throughout the sanding process.
