Veterinary Receptionist/ Assistant

**Reception Duties**:

- Maintain the flow of the front desk at a Veterinary practice including but not limited to the following duties,
- Answering and managing phone calls
- Greeting and checking in clients and their pets.
- Processing medication requests, entering proper notes and billing into client accounts.
- Checking out clients
- Completing end of day process
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Prior veterinary practice experience is required.

**Veterinary Assistant Duties**:

- Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Take and develop x-rays
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Provide assistance during surgeries and other medical procedures
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition

**Skills**:

- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners, veterinarians, and other staff members
- Ability to handle animals with care, compassion, and patience
- Knowledge of animal behavior and body language
- Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using veterinary software for record keeping and scheduling appointments
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

**Pay**: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour based on prior experience
