**Overview**

**Job Summary**
- Listening and simultaneously reading along with text to ensure accuracy, consistency, correct pronunciation, and quality of audio submissions.
- Researching pronunciations, both American and British English as well as foreign languages.
- Diagnosing audio issues and notating narrator corrections on an Excel spreadsheet.
- Creating audio samples for the Tantor Media website.
- Light sound editing in Sound Forge.

**Required Qualifications/Skills**
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in History, English, Literature, or the fine arts.
- Must love to read and be willing to read all genres
- Intermediate researching capabilities.
- Understanding of English vocabulary (specific to word pronunciation).
- Strong computer aptitude, with a focus on Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to adhere to strict deadlines and work independently.
- Strong focus and multitasking ability, including ability to sit and read from a computer screen for 8 consecutive hours per day.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to help/train others

**Additional Desired Skills**
- Knowledge of foreign languages (Middle Eastern, Chinese, Gaelic, etc.).
- Familiarity with audiobooks.
- Knowledge of American or British history and European dialects.
- Familiarity with audio listening software (Sound Forge, Pro-Tools, etc.).
- Some knowledge of how to write and read phonetics.
