Kennel Assistant

**About us**

We are a prestigious boarding kennel in beautiful back country Greenwich where we take our care of dogs very seriously. We are looking for an applicant that makes the care and wellbeing of animals their first priority. This is a busy, high traffic kennel where employees must think on their feet and make quick decisions in stressful situations. No public transportation is available so applicants **must have own reliable vehicle.** Weekends are required. Must have experience handling dogs and supervising play groups.

We will not hire any students who cannot fulfill the full time requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the daily care and maintenance of animals in the kennel
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
- monitoring play groups in outside yards, able to handle all weather conditions.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience working with animals is a must.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledge of basic animal care and behavior
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to protocols, independent thinker.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and strenuous tasks

We are looking for an applicant to work 9-10 hour days, ideally saturdays, mondays, Wednesdays and thursdays.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 40 per week

Day range:

- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Shift:

- 10 hour shift
