JSI is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to become part of Our security Team in Our Crystal City, VA Office. This position is primarily centered around Blue Team with minor overlap of Purple Team.RESPONSIBILITIESThe qualified individual must:

- Be comfortable being an individual contributor working with a small team, in a cohesive setting
- Be a fast learner and able to dissect complex issues in a timely manner
- Be able to keep abreast of the continuous changes in the cyber security landscape
- Be able to shift focus on the cybersecurity realm as priorities change
- Have strong problem solving capabilities and attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONSApplicants for this position should possess the following:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 3+ years’ experience in either systems or network administration.
- Skilled at writing scripts in any of the following: powershell,python,php,perl,bash etc.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements. Understanding of vulnerability scanning solutions and interpreting results.
- Proficiency with any of the following: Anti-Virus, HIPS, IDS/IPS systems, SIEM, Firewalls.
- Preferred at least one certificate in the security realm: SANS,GSEC/GCED,GCIA,GCIH,GMON,GCDA,GCWN,,GCUX,GDAT,GPEN/GWAPT or equivalent industry certifications.
- At least one year direct experience in Cyber Security Realm.
- Experience in understanding and deploying signatures/configurations (e.g. YARA, Snort, Suricata, HIPS, Sysmon)
- Understanding of Critical Security Controls and interpretation of CIS Benchmarks security controls.
- Experience in Identity and access management (IAM) solutions.

Salary commensurate with experience.
