The Village of Park Forest's Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is currently conducting a Lateral and Entry Level Police Officer Recruitment. By participating in the process, applicants may qualify to be placed on the Park Forest Police Department’s two-year eligibility list. Additionally, due to the current needs of the department, **select lateral applicants may be identified to participate in an expedited process**.

**Lateral hires**

Starting probationary salaries for lateral hires are equivalent to salaries outlined in the current police union contract. Please note that on July 1, all salaries listed below will increase by 2.5%.

**Illinois certified police officer**
12 months full-time experience - Step B $75,382
24 months full-time experience - Step C $81,777
36 months of full-time experience - Step D $86,654
48 months of full-time experience - Step E $93,048
60 months or more of full time experience - Step F $98,762

**Out-of-state certified police officer**s (with full-time experience as referenced above)
Begin at the contract probationary step salary of $69,740. Upon successful completion of the State of Illinois certification process, their probationary salary will be raised to the step equivalent to their experience as referenced above.

**Benefits**

Pay: $69,740.00 - $98,762.00 per year
