**Salary**: $4,000 - $8,000 for full Summer Camp season

**Overview**

For over 50 Years, Laurel Hill Summer Camp has been one of the best summer camps in Suffolk County, Long Island. The camp is designed for children from Preschool through 10th grade, providing them with a platform to explore new skills and interests during the summer.

Our camp offers various programs such as sports, arts and crafts, drama, music, gymnastics, karate, swimming, nature exploration, games, gardening, computers, swing shot, rock climbing, and tennis. This wide-ranging program aims to cater to different interests and encourages active, engaged learning in a fun, safe environment.

We look for Camp Team Members who are enthusiastic and motivated, possess a genuine love of teaching and coaching children and teens, and are eager to work hard and play hard.

Laurel Hill Summer Camp seeks an enthusiastic Theater Teacher to lead our performing arts program. This role involves teaching theater arts to campers from Elementary through Middle School, encouraging creativity, expression, and teamwork.

This position is perfect for individuals passionate about theater and looking to make a significant impact on young lives through the performing arts.

**Position**

As the Theater Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Drama classes to our campers in our Studio and Stage Theater program and the general camper population.

The Theater Teacher will direct camp plays, teach acting techniques, and help students develop their performance skills in a supportive and creative environment.

You will also collaborate with other members of the Fine and Performing Arts department.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement a theater curriculum that includes acting, stage presence, and basic production skills.
- Direct and produce camper performances, coordinating rehearsals and live shows.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages self-expression and confidence among students.
- Manage stage settings and coordinate with other staff for props and costumes.
- Evaluate camper progress and provide constructive feedback.

**Qualifications**
- Experience in theater arts, either teaching or directing.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Creative and dynamic teaching approach.
- Ability to inspire and engage children of various ages.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
